The blackbuck is a species of antelope native to the Indian subcontinent.

Fun Facts

The blackbuck antelope’s main diet consists of grass. They also eat leaves, pods, fruits, shrubs and flowers. Poaching and habitat destruction has contributed to the endangerment of this species. Blackbuck antelope live in groups of 30 to 50 consisting of all bachelor males or female herds with and without a territorial male. Some herds even consist of females working together to guard their young.
