Also known as the Barbary dove, African collared dove, ring dove or ringed turtle dove. This dove species are native to Sahel, Ethiopia, and the Arabian Peninsula.
Fun Facts
African ring-necked doves are very friendly and easily tameable, making them an ideal pet. This dove can survive in a wide variety of habitats from semi-desert shrubs, forests, and farmlands. The African ring-necked dove’s defense mechanism is to “freeze” in place when it feels threatened.
