Homers pigeons are a crossbreed of pigeons that were first developed in Belgium and England. These birds were originally bred for racing.
They are sometimes confused with homing pigeons, a species of pigeon that was once used to carry messages. Homer pigeons are conditioned and trained to fly racing distances between 62 – 620 miles.
