The ringed-necked pheasant was originally native to Asia, but when introduced to North America the species thrived in their new environment. These pheasants can now be seen commonly throughout the United States and Canada.

Fun Facts

Males have a distinctive white ring around their necks along with a green cap and red eye patch. Also known as the common pheasant, there are about 30 subspecies.
