Rocky Mountain Elk

About
Park Names: Brutus, Remi
The elk or wapiti is one of the largest species within the deer family, Cervidae, in the world, and one of the largest land mammals in North America and eastern Asia.
Fun Facts
Scientists believe the elk’s ivories (large canine teeth) are rudimentary tusks. A wolf pack will take on an adult elk, but, surprisingly, more adult elk are killed by mountain lions than wolves. Of course man is a major predator as well.
